  Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the most common illnesses of later life. At present, AD cannot be diagnosed until a dementia phenotype has been clinically established and there are no disease-modifying treatments to change the course of this neurodegenerative disorder. Growing evidence showed that the cellular, and brain changes starts years or even decades prior to the clinical symptoms of memory loss or behavioral/cognitive symptoms. So researchers in the past years pay much attention in investigating biomarkers for AD to improve early diagnosis. In this topic, I will introduce the current commonly used strategy and newest development in the diagnosis of Alzheimer disease
