Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer. In Taiwan, lung cancer is also a major health problem. Since low-dose computed tomography is more frequently used for physical check-up in the recent years, more and more ground glass nodules (GGNs) are found. Though there are various guidelines for management of these GGNs published by many medical associations or organizations, some controversies related to treatment of GGNs still exist. In this lecture, we will present the experience of surgical management of small GGNs at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, including follow-up strategy, pre-operative localization, surgical treatment, etc. |
