Robots were developed to reduce human errors, to replace or assist humans in those repetitive and dangerous tasks. Navigation techniques have improved the accuracy of implant placement, increased the safety and reduced the radiation exposure.
Robots have been incorporated in the spine surgery, using the Mazor Robotics Renaissance? system, we performed miscellaneous spine surgeries including degenerative disease, tumor, infection, fractures and deformities. Surgical robots can offer a distinct value not only in accuracy, minimal invasiveness, they also can enable procedures that are hard or impossible to do without the assistance of the robots especially in spine deformities. |
